I designed this grip and had it built for my G7 There has been some interest in having more made for others so here is the story.
I have received the first one and had it Black Anodized.
It fits the camera perfectly.
It turns out taking a picture of a black grip on a black camera in a mirror is harder then it looks.
The
good news is it works great. It sticks out from the body of the camera
.5 in (13mm) and that is enough that you can not only wrap your hand around
the camera and grip, but you can hold it just by the grip with your palm
on the camera side and your fingers on the inside of the grip. I find it
very easy to carry the camera using the grip, and even more important it
is easy to hold the camera and point, zoom, and shoot with just one hand.
You can hold the camera above your head and shoot as well.
I
can pick the camera up off a table or out of a bag and turn it on, and
take pictures with one hand
There
is a hole in the grip base for a tripod, The camera with grip will
sit flat on a table.
I
designed this grip as a one of a kind device, therefor it is hand machined
from two pieces of solid aluminum. If I could make hundreds or thousands,
they would be made differently.
The cost is $92 US plus shipping. The grip can be disassembled and shipped in a padded envelop
